“Having been a fan of what Anna and Hedda have built in the name of really celebrating women in film with the Girls On Film podcast and awards, I'm very proud to be a patron. They have a genuine commitment to representation of women of all heritage and backgrounds working in the industry and their mission complements the work I do at The British Blacklist.”

I’m delighted and proud to support Girls On Film. Their podcast, annual awards, and other programmes and events provide a brilliant platform to discover and celebrate women filmmakers and film critics, and the team’s commitment to representation, diversity, and inclusion means they always bring a fresh and fascinating perspective to the films they discuss.”

— Col Needham

Founder of the IMDb

“With only 27% of films released in the UK written and / or directed by women, Girls On Film gives us a much-needed female perspective on films and the broader industry. Just as Girls On Film spotlight women in cinema, their work too deserves championing, and I’ll be glad to continue cheering them on.”

— Melanie Iredale

Cine-activist and Director of Reclaim the Frame

"Girls On Film is doing such important work, celebrating and spotlighting the contributions of women within contemporary cinema, and doing so with such knowledge, passion and warmth through the podcast. And now the Awards give us an opportunity to reflect on female creatives' stunning achievements from the previous 12 months, across the crafts, in front of and behind the camera."

“I have the impression that since Girls on Film podcast first hit our headsets the number of women in key creative roles in film has increased after years of stagnation. I’m thrilled to hear women talk to Anna about how they never knew that the job they have done behind camera, on and off set, was never really achieved by women before them.

— Kerry Fox

Actress and filmmaker

“I am very proud to be a patron of the Girls On Film Awards. The awards honour women in the film industry who have made a change, and work hard every day to keep pushing the boundaries for women, as it is unfortunately still not a no-brainer that all genders should be treated equal.”

— Kirsten Niehuus

CEO of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg

“I have been in collaboration with Girls On Film in various ways since they started, so it’s a joy to be asked to be a patron. I promise to help spread the word and support their fantastic work in all possible ways, arm in arm with the team and the other fabulous patrons".
