Girls On Film x The Thing With Feathers

18/11/2025

Recorded at our special screening on 18 November at Vue West End, this live episode features host Anna Smith in conversation with the extraordinary women shaping the new feature film THE THING WITH FEATHERS, adapted from Max Porter’s award-winning novel.

Anna speaks with artist and author Lucy Sullivan, sculptor and Crow designer Nicola Hicks, producer Leah Clarke, and creature and costume effects specialist Tahra Zafar. Together, they discuss the challenges women face in their fields, the artistic processes behind their work, and the importance of creative communities.

Directed by Dylan Southern and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Vinette Robinson, and David Thewlis, THE THING WITH FEATHERS is a lyrical story of love, loss, and the strange paths to healing.

Special thanks to Vue Lumiere for partnering with us, and to everyone who attended this inspiring event.
